Executive & Artistic Director, Founder

As seen in Rolling Stone Magazine, Elizabeth (Liz) Zabala is a singer, conductor and music coach specializing in college audition preparation. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music where she studied Voice Performance and Contemporary Conducting. Liz previously served as the Assistant Conductor for the Boston Festival Orchestra where she made her conducting debut conducting the choir in Holst's "The Planets". Previous roles also include teaching at Ward After-School Program as well as School of Rock, and Assistant Conductor of the Saxyderms, a Boston based saxophone ensemble.

Liz is passionate about empowering young musicians and is very proud of how far the YPMC has come in it's first year as an organization. She is excited to see where the future takes YPMC in Calgary, Canada.

Community & Sponsorship Outreach Coordinator

Hannah Hess is proud to serve as the Community & Sponsorship Outreach Coordinator of YPMC and has been with YPMC since it’s inception.

A coloratura soprano and senior at Boston University studying Music and Hospitality Administration, Hannah has been a performer for over ten years. Hannah made her Carnegie Hall debut as First Place Winner of the American Protégé Vocal Competition and has since been recognized as a New England NATS prizewinner. Recent roles include Erste Knabe (Die Zauberflöte, Berlin Opera Academy), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas), and Ms. Pinkerton (The Old Maid and the Thief). Hannah also directs and engages in arts advocacy through her work with MIB Agents Osteosarcoma Alliance, Hidden Doorways Luxury Travel, The Newbury Boston.

Operations & Compliance Coordinator

Eric Yang is a classical singer and music theorist. He has previously sung in many Toronto choirs and now maintains an active schedule as a vocalist in the Calgary area. His music theory interests lie in the development of tonality, spaces and transformations, mathematical representations of music, and the music of John Adams. He is also interested in the way musicians think about how theory shapes music, especially how we subconsciously mold music into understandable pieces. He has presented his work on musical spaces at the Society for Music Theory, Music Theory Southeast/South Central, and the Texas Society, among others.

He holds a Bachelor of Music in History, Culture, and Theory from the Universiy of Toronto and diplomas from the London College of Music in Classical Singing and Piano Performance. In his free time, he enjoys playing jazz piano.

Yuan Ge

Chair of Board

Yuan Ge holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Business & Management from Berklee College of Music. While at Berklee, he studied with the likes of Tomo Fujita, Mark White, Joe Stump, George Howard, and Mark Shilansky. Yuan also holds a Master’s degree in Music Industry Leadership from Northeastern University. He is now a PhD candidate in Music Education at the University of Calgary.

Originally from the music business world, Yuan spearheaded marketing efforts at Sony Music for artists such as Christina Aguilera, Nicky Jam, Hikaru Utada, and Kenshi Yonezu. Over the years, he gradually pivoted to become a music educator with a specialization in guitar. He now has over four years of music education experience in both private and public capacities.

In his spare time, Yuan likes to tinker with guitars, cameras, and cars.

Board Member / Secretary

Maliyah Chance is a multidisciplinary professional based in Calgary, Alberta, whose work spans the beauty sector, creative industries, and youth engagement. With over 11 years of experience, she brings a cross-industry perspective grounded in youth advocacy, creative expression, and holistic wellbeing. She is the reigning Miss Alberta 2025 and was previously crowned Miss Teenage Alberta 2018. Maliyah has supported organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters and Canada Homestay Network, where she has mentored youth and contributed to their growth in confidence, resilience, and personal development.

As an internationally published model, performer, and speaker, Maliyah has been featured in Moevir Magazine in Paris, France, performed at the 2019 Red Deer Canada Winter Games, sang the national anthem for the Calgary Surge, and spoke on youth empowerment at the Calgary Stampede Roundup.

Hugo Tse

Board Member

Hugo Tse is a communications and public relations professional at PARKER PR, currently completing a Bachelor of Communications in Public Relations at Mount Royal University. They have a strong foundation in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership.

Hugo previously served as President of the Asian Relations and Cultures club, where they strengthened operations and increased funding. They are also a founding member of MRU PR FUN, supporting first-generation PR students. Actively involved in Pan-Asian non-profits, Hugo is committed to advocacy and inclusive community building. Outside of school and work, Hugo has a strong interest in the arts, including music, film and fashion. These interests inform their creative perspective and approach to storytelling and communication.

Board Member & YPMC Musician

Violist and violinist Ruby Jackson is recent graduate from the University of Toronto, earning a bachelors degree of music performance with honours. Currently based in Calgary Alberta, Ruby is pursuing a career as a freelance musician while also studying to be a luthier. Ruby prides herself in creative musicality and brings a unique point of view to pieces she plays. She enjoys focusing on storytelling and expressing joy within music making. She has participated in numerous music festivals, such as Festival Del Lago and the Emerald Coast Chamber Festival, where she worked with professionals across both the USA and Canada. Outside of music, Ruby is an avid reader and a talented artist. She spends a large portion of her time illustrating visual novels and smaller commissions. Ruby is a kind, fun loving person who is excited and eager to share the joy of her art and music with the world.
