Eric Yang is a classical singer and music theorist. He has previously sung in many Toronto choirs and now maintains an active schedule as a vocalist in the Calgary area. His music theory interests lie in the development of tonality, spaces and transformations, mathematical representations of music, and the music of John Adams. He is also interested in the way musicians think about how theory shapes music, especially how we subconsciously mold music into understandable pieces. He has presented his work on musical spaces at the Society for Music Theory, Music Theory Southeast/South Central, and the Texas Society, among others.
He holds a Bachelor of Music in History, Culture, and Theory from the Universiy of Toronto and diplomas from the London College of Music in Classical Singing and Piano Performance. In his free time, he enjoys playing jazz piano.
